    Description

1957 Chevy Bel Air Sport Coupe built as a high-end tribute to the famous '57 built by the late Bill Lipay in 1964. Full frame off highly detailed restoration completed in late 2020. Great care was taken to install as many period-correct components as possible. Though this is a beautifully detailed car that is fully painted/chromed underneath, it is often driven and fully street legal. Great for shows and cruises or for museum display. This is an original steel body with no reproduction panels except for the main floor and rockers. The trunk floor, quarters, doors, deck lid, hood, front fenders are all original 1957 GM sheet metal. The body is finished in Glasurit base/clear urethane. The firewall, complete underbody, frame, rear end and insides of front fenders are all finished in white pearl urethane.
    Features:
Bo Laws built high-compression 1957 Chevy 283 ci V8 engine with 300 HP 327 heads, roller tipped rockers, Comp Cams Big Mother Thumper hydraulic camshaft, chromed M/T valve covers with vintage Offenhauser breathers, Offenhauser polished dual quad intake, Dual Endura-Sine Edlebrock AVS2 carburetors, chrome water pump, chrome alternator, chrome fuel pump, chrome starter, chrome oil pan, chrome timing chain cover and silver ceramic coated Patriot fenderwell headers with stainless steel resonators. It runs well on 93 octane pump gas.
Transmission is a fully rebuilt 1967 dated M20 4-speed tagged as original from a Corvette. The shifter is an NOS Mr. Gasket Bang Shifter.
The rear end is a heavy duty 9.3 Pontiac dated 1957. The posi rear center and 3.90 gears, all new bearings are new from Fabcraft. Rear axles are new steel from Dutchman. Rear traction bars are fully adjustable Traction-Master style, chrome powder coated.
Wheels are Mr. Gasket polished aluminum slots 15x3 front and 15x7 rear with Coker Firestone pie-crust Dragster slicks rear and pie-crust skinnies up front.
The front axle is a chromed 1964 Econoline with chrome Speedway springs and polished stainless steel shackles. Front and rear brakes are drum-style with all new drums and components.
Many parts on this car have been chrome plated or chrome powder coated.
The leatherette interior is white/red roll and pleat and is an exact duplicate of the interior used in 1964. The beautiful interior was reproduced by Ciadella Enterprises. Carpet is matching red Daytona. All interior garnish moldings are chrome plated. The instrument cluster, lower column cover, turn signal housing, gear shift collar, heater delete, ashtray and glove box door have all been chrome plated. The headliner features 1955-style chrome headliner bows.
All side trim and stainless is polished original with a few reproduction pieces mixed in. The rear bumper is wagon style and is new with new ends and rechromed original 1957 guards.
This is one of the most striking and beautiful 1957 Chevy's you will ever see. It is highly unusual to see a gasser built to this high caliber. It commands immediate attention wherever I take it with it's flashy Old-School appeal and hard hitting rumpty-rump high-compression V8. There would be no way to duplicate this car for the asking price. Thousands of hours have been spent to build this high-quality car.
