CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE EMPRESS SEATED STATUE

Description

This is an impressive Chinese Famille Rose ceramic porcelain Empress Seated Statue that stands approximately 14” tall. Her base measures 8 1/8” x 6 ¼” (looking at her left foot in slightly) and 6 ½” (looking at her right foot out or longer slightly). The Empress is sitting in a large rough textured, muddy brown color backless chair. She possibly has an ink box in her hand. Her headwear, robe or Hanfu and skirt are decorated with the following: Pheasant Bird – peace & purity, Earrings – Jade immortality, Lotus flowers – virtue & purity, Peony flowers – prosperity, happiness & good fortune, Waves – job within Imperial Service, tradition repetitive “T” symbols, various other flowers, and repetitive designs. The hand painted colors include: black and white, with shades of blue, green, brown, mustard, pink, purple, and yellow.
The Empress’s condition is as follows:
* Paint loss.
* Paint drips
* Areas that are rough.
* (2) Two small hairline cracks in her neck.
* Surface scratches.
* Possible old dust or dirt could be found.
