This work is from Ouqian, a pottery sculptor in Shiwan in the 1950s. Plastic animal is an important part of several series of pottery and plastics in Shiwan kiln. The animal pottery sculptures represented by Ouqian use the traditional lanugo technique of Shiwan.
OUQIAN (1906-1958), was born in the South China. He was well-known in Guangdong as a good ceramics master that making animal pottery sculptures.
Condition is great - Minor flaw on the back of the lion as shown in the photos and not all of the lion’s eyebrow hair strands are present.
