Shows light wear from use and storage, including typical surface marks, scratches, and it retains a light patina over the Sterling surface due to aging.  We choose not to clean potentially collectible jewelry like this and leave that option to the new owner.  It is straight, not bent, has nice shine as it is, clasp works as it should, with no damage, no major issues at all.
Top of pendant features nicely done inlaid stonework in the design of what I believe to be a Pueblo woman kneeling down, with her back forward, next to adobe style pottery.  The necklace is pre-made, signed on the clasp ITALY 925, and is custom attached to the pendant, in the similar twisted wire fashion she is known for.  I correctly believe the necklace is original to this piece, as it would have saved time and effort for the artist.
It is hand signed on the back in cursive, by an engraving pen, KRISTIN SCHWARTZ 1980.  The last name does have noticeable mistakes, but clearly is Schwartz.  This was an early time in her life when she signed her art as Schwartz, and now is known today as Kristin Holeman.  It is not signed with a metal purity, but we did a stone and acid test and it confirms Sterling silver.
Kristin Schwartz Holeman has been working with precious metal and gemstone jewelry in South Florida well over 40+ years now, so this most certainly is one of her earlier works.  You can see similarities in her designs today, such as the details to the woman's toes, the inlaid techniques, the way the necklace is integrated into the pendant, and the way she signs the letter K.
This is an amazing, very early piece from this award winning, listed fine jewelry artist!  If you collect the wide variety of her work, this will not disappoint!  Add it to your collection today!
