Vintage Chinese Staffordshire Foo Dog Pair 9 Inch

Description

Lovely pair of vintage Chinese Staffordshire / Foo Dogs made of ceramic or clay. Items are hand painted and have what appears to be a tan wash over the natural finish. They are not glazed. The standing dog is 9 inches tall, about 8 1/2 inches long, and 4 inches wide and weighs 2 pounds 9.5 ounces. The sitting dog is 8 inches high, about 7 inches long and 4 1/2 inches wide and weighs 1 pound 12.5 ounces.  Each has a tiny gold Made in China tag on bottom; the sitting one also has what must have been an auction tag that reads T496 (20-21).  Both are in very good condition with no damage noted.  I purchased these at consignment about 20 years ago and they have been part of my personal collection since; now downsizing.
