Up for bid is an original vintage pre-owned
Decorative
Chinese Relief
Tibet Silver Bullion Thanka Amulet.
Sometime referred to as a
Scroll Weight or Chinese Ingot.
Found at an estate sale.
On the front the Chinese reads: (Liánnián y
ǒ
uyú), which is a Chinese New Year’s greeting meaning “Surplus Year after Year
”.
On the back is the Chinese zodiac and the Chinese characters above the circle say “pure silver”.
However,
Tibet Silver is not pure silver, it is a metal mixed with silver and copper.
This is Tibet Silver weighs about
142g.
It measures about
3-1/2" high by about 2” wide.
This Tibet Silver would make an excellent gift.
