    Vintage Hand Carved Wood Old Chinese Wise Man Statue Figurine w/ Bird RARE Color God of Longevity
    This wise man with bird next to him and what appears to be a fish (maybe fruit) in one hand, staff in the other is in fantastic condition. I have seen a few similar carvings - same general theme - that have been the color of just the wood. This one has subtle coloration to his facial hair, the bird, fish and base of stand. This was carved by a true artisan; the folds of robe, the feathers and his beard are remarkable. Note the staff just above his hand. At first glance this appeared to be a poorly done repair. On closer look it seems to be the artist working with a natural "slice" in the wood. I've tried to capture inside the the staff, the wood is connected. Stunning piece of artistry.
    Approx size 12" x 4" x 4". As found, I've lightly dusted him, but he could use a
    better cleaning, perhaps some wood conditioner.
