Vintage Pair Of Hand Carved Black Stone Foo Dog Figures

This is a great pair of vintage Foo Dogs.
They are hand carved and finely detailed.
I don't know just what the black stone is but they are fairly heavy for their size at nearly 3 pounds for the pair.
They are each a little different since they are hand carved.
I don’t believe they are soapstone as the stone is not soft.
They measure about 4 7/8 inches tall and 2 inches by 2 3/4 inches at the bottom of the base.
They are in very good condition as shown in the photos.
In online research I have not seen other foo dogs quite like this pair.
