This is a Jade Hand Carved Dragon design Sword that is 66 inches long. The Dragon Head carving is 6 1/2 inches high, while the body portion is 4 1/2 inches high. The width varies from 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches wide. This is a solid piece of Jade that was hand carved around 1900 or so experts in the field have related to me. I purchased it from an importer who brought antiques from the Orient about 25 years ago.
I have enjoyed displaying it in my home and have had guests rave over it. When the Antique Roadshow came to Milwaukee a few years ago, I was lucky enough to win tickets to take several items for the experts to appraise them. This was one item that had everyone in line in awe over it's detail and excellent color of Jade.
The Sword weighs approximately 25 pounds, thus I will not undertake to ship it, but am listing it as Local Pick Up. If a buyer wishes to contract with a shipper to have this item sent to them, that is fine with me, as I will have it totally bubble wrapped and expect the shipper to encase it further for safe travel.
This is the one of a kind item that is extra special and not found except perhaps in a big city import shop, as I discovered it decades ago. I have never seen another item anywhere near to this size or the detailing in the design. It is far more impressive seeing it in person, than any pictures can show. This Jade piece is for the real collectors of Jade who wish to enhance their collection with a unique item!
